What are the responsibilities and job description for the Retirement Plan Administration Consultant position at ebhu/CX/?
Our ideal candidate should have 2-3 years of experience working for a TPA fulfilling the traditional role of an administrator.
Our ideal candidate must be able to proficiently perform all listed primary responsibilities on day 1 (from census review to computing employer contributions and preparing and delivering Form 5500’s and all applicable schedules to Plan Sponsors). This role requires constant interfacing with Plan Sponsors and Financial Advisors via email and over the phone on plan designs and outcomes.
This is a fully remote position.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Preparation and review of annual reporting for DC, CB, and combination-type plans.
- Review and interpret the plan document specifications.
- Prepare optimum annual contribution allocations/outcomes.
- Review reconciled trust accounts for trustee-directed accounts.
- Perform non-discrimination testing for stand-alone DC plans. Combination plan outcomes are determined by Actuaries.
- Prepare and/or review IRS Forms 5330, and 5500 and all applicable schedules including schedules for audited plans.
- Work closely with CPAs on audited large plan filers.
- Ability to Identify highly compensated and key employees and ensure minimum allocations to non-highly compensated and non-key employees are met.
- Consult with clients regarding plan terminations.
- Work with Actuaries on cash balance/DC combination plans.
- General understanding of qualified plan compliance according to ERISA, IRS/DOL.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Microsoft Office proficient.
- ASC Plan Valuation and ASC DGEM.
- Pension Pro experience is helpful but not required.
- Ability to multi-task, meet 5500 filing deadlines independently and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain a high level of customer service.
- Ability to consult over the phone and email with plan sponsors and financial advisors that aligns with our professional standards.
- Understanding of recordkeeper platforms, products, and website navigation is helpful.
Experience Requirement
- High School Diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
- Professional designation with ASPPA and/or NIPA preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of administrator experience with third-party plan administration.

Compensation Range:
The salary range for this role is $75K - $85K. Compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific office location. Compensation ranges may differ in differing locations due to cost of labor considerations.
