Pay: From $24.00 per hour
Adult Language Academy
Schedule:
Monday - Thursday - 6:00 pm - 10:30 pm In-Person
May be required to work on Friday.
Role and Responsibilities:
· Participate in new teacher training given by the Academic Supervisor
· Read the Staff and Faculty Handbook.
· Instruct ESL courses to adults in a classroom setting.
· Prepare lesson plans weekly in a timely schedule established by the Academic Supervisor
· Evaluate and monitor students’ performance and provide every student with a progress report/ report card required. Advise students on their progress throughout a set meeting with the student.
· Ensure all students obtain the appropriate course book when attending class.
· Deliver classes following the course syllabus focusing on the student learning outcomes (SLOs) specific to every course.
· Administer written and oral exams as applicable ensuring students are tested on course-specific SLOs.
· Grade students on written and oral exams and submit them to the academic office along with a summary report of student final grades.
· Attend all faculty meetings and training workshops as required by the Academic Supervisor. Every teacher must attend at least two Professional Development Course workshops per year.
· Comply with and enforce all school and classroom policies.
· Perform other tasks as assigned by the Academic Supervisor.
· Read and understand the syllabus, content of study, lab resources, tutoring hours at the school, (if applicable),
· Follows SEVP rules and regulations, (international students).
· Read and understand reading materials provided by Academic Supervisor
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Teaching, education, or related field is required.
- Must have at least one year of ESL classroom teaching experience for adults.
- CELTA / TESOL/ TEFL certification is required if BA is an unrelated field.
