Assists with the planning and implementation of quality leisure/social events program designed to assist residents in maintaining their personal potential both physically, socially and mentally. Additionally drives Ebenezer bus for resident outings.
Responsibilities
- Assists with leisure programs and activities:
- Leads social events and activity programs.
- Conducts exercise class for residents.
- Communicates and coordinates activity/leisure programs with all departments.
- Assists other departments with special events and family functions.
- Documents as required.
- Offers suggestions and ideas to improve the events program to the Life Enrichment Director.
- Assists in meeting the psychosocial needs of residents:
- Encourages resident participation.
- Reports change in resident attitude, mood or physical status to appropriate staff.
- Promotes resident independence by offering choices and fostering self-help skills.
- Assists residents in developing relationships and effectively socializing.
- Drives Ebenezer van/bus for resident outings:
- Reviews and completes Vehicle Requirements – Transporting Residents Checklist prior to each resident outing.
- Maintains a log of transportation services and tasks performed throughout the driving period.
- Responsible for the safety and welfare of passengers.
- Practices sound, safe judgment when performing transportation services including but not limited to: fire/disaster procedures and infection control procedures.
- Recognizes and acts appropriately on safety hazards and incidents.
- Follows all laws with regard to operating a motor vehicle.
- Immediately reports any traffic violations or accidents.
Required Qualifications
- None to 1 Year
- Working knowledge of basic Microsoft applications
- Must be able to work irregular hours, occasional weekends and evenings
- Drivers License Current Driver’s License (in good standing)
- Medical Exam Certification
- Must be at least 18-years old
- Must be insurable under the employers Auto Insurance Coverage
- Must complete and pass in-house Transportation Course
Preferred Qualifications
- One to Three Years
