About the team and the role:

The Risk Strategy, Operations & Policy Governance team is a fast-paced and passion-filled team to join! This team supports Risk & Compliance teams across eBay via a shared service model to drive scalable, compliant transformation by aligning cross-functional stakeholders across business, finance, technology, and legal to integrate risk & compliance considerations into strategic execution!

We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Sr. Manager for Risk Strategy & Operations. The position will be instrumental in driving operational efficiency, strategic alignment, and execution of key cross-functional programs. We are hiring curious, driven, and fearless experts to transform our business unit to enable eBay's strategy. Our focus is to ensure the integrity of our marketplace for buyers & sellers who transact with us every single day. The scope of our charter includes Risk Management Strategy, Business Operations, Transformation, and cross-functional program/project management for key Risk driven initiatives.

The ideal candidate will approach challenges strategically, communicate effectively, and solve problems proactively. This role demands the skill to relate decisions to general organizational goals and to influence participants effectively. You must be adaptable to meet the needs of a dynamic marketplace and partner with crucial customers to ensure Risk & Compliance are part of the overall goals.

What you will accomplish:

• Serve as a trusted advisor and thought partner to leadership, driving efficiency and structure to the strategic planning process from a Risk perspective.

• Facilitate executive-level communications, presenting and reporting to drive strategy and influence across teams.

• Lead cross-functional programs, supporting transformation and strategic priorities, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring scalable solutions.

• Support organizational change management and the adoption of new processes and tools, facilitating learning and growth opportunities within the team.

• Drive operational efficiency and automating where possible to reduce manual efforts, develop analysis structure for areas of optimization.

• Systematically discover and map end-to-end operational workflows, identifying bottlenecks and optimization opportunities, to ensure automation projects deliver measurable and sustainable operational improvements.

• Enable collaboration across Legal, Compliance, Trust, Privacy, Security, Product, Program Management, Operations, and other key stakeholders encouraging a culture of partnership and innovation.

• Support and lead ad-hoc projects.

What you will bring:

• Dedicated to working our Hybrid Model with 3 days per week in the Austin, TX office.

• Extensive experience (10 years) in consulting, program management, strategy, or operations, with a strong understanding of risk and compliance domains preferred.

• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with proficiency in PowerPoint and reporting tools.

• Executive-level verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to tell a compelling story backed by data

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, adept at navigating cross-functional, matrixed organizational structures.

• Demonstrated success managing multiple sophisticated projects in high-stakes, ambiguous environments. Skilled at getting results across matrixed, cross-functional teams.

• Understand, improve processes, and methodologies to drive solutions.

• Preferred certifications like PMP, Lean Six Sigma, and experience with enterprise risk management and regulatory compliance.

• Able and willing to travel as needed for the role.

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
