Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments.
- Handle animals safely and effectively, utilizing proper restraint techniques for dogs, cats, and other small animals.
- Perform animal husbandry duties including feeding, cleaning, and monitoring health status.
- Maintain cleanliness of exam rooms, treatment areas, and kennels by adhering to sanitation protocols and PPE use.
- Communicate clearly with pet owners regarding pet care instructions, medication schedules, and follow-up appointments.
- Assist with front desk responsibilities when needed, including scheduling appointments and managing client inquiries.
Skills
- Prior veterinary clinic experience is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and behavior enhances patient care quality.
- Proficiency in animal restraint techniques and handling diverse species including dogs, cats, and equines.
- Ability to perform animal blood draws.
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration.
