What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities- Lead Custodian position at Eau Claire County?
- Reviews maintenance reports and work orders; uses excellent organizational and analytical skills to establish priorities and coordinate completion; develops and recommends work policies and procedures.
- Applies knowledge of the principles and practices of supervision to effectively plan, supervise, review, and evaluate work of the custodial staff; determines work procedures and schedules and develops methods for expediting workflow; approves employee requests for leave and overtime as required by operational necessity; evaluates employee performance; coaches and counsels custodial staff to achieve improved performance and productivity; recommends corrective disciplinary action as needed; identifies individual training needs in order to achieve greater departmental performance and productivity.
- Utilizes knowledge and experience of custodial procedures in a commercial setting to supervise, coordinate, and perform a full spectrum of custodial activities; ensures all meeting and furniture setup requests are completed; reinforces knowledge of occupational hazards and safety requirements by operating necessary tools and equipment in a safe manner.
- Applies knowledge of facilities maintenance to inspect, troubleshoot and or repair facility systems.
- Employs knowledge of maintaining lawns, fields, and grounds to perform grounds maintenance duties; proficiently operates groundskeeping equipment and tools; participates in snow removal.
- Uses ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of people including departmental staff, supervisors, department heads, contractors, government officials, and the public to communicate custodial operations and activities, policies, and procedures, and provide responses and corrective actions for emergency building maintenance issues.
- Oversee after-hours meeting schedules, manage door access requests and room setups, and ensure the building is secured at the end of each shift,
- Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Three (3) years of custodial experience.
- One (1) year of experience in a supervisory position.
- Appointment will be conditional upon successful completion of a criminal background check.
- Position will require a pre-employment physical exam.
- Must have valid driver’s license, an acceptable driving record.
- 3 years of experience as a lead custodian
Salary : $25 - $30
