Eaton Corporation in Sumter, SC is currently seeking an Production Planning Assistant for Data Center Switchboards on 1st shift to join our team.
This position is primarily responsible for supporting Panelboard and/or Switchboard Supervisor (MPS) in order management including scheduling, routine reports and data retention for the Sumter location. This role will interface heavily with production teams and supply chain, engineering, customer experience representatives, and other Eaton manufacturing locations. This position requires strong communication, computer skills, critical thinking and problem solving.

Essential Functions
- Assist with scheduling orders for production maintaining scheduling of items to quoted cycle times, reviewing backlog, and expediting critical orders, reconcile customer requested ship dates with product line standard lead times and manufacturing capacity utilizing MRP (OMS and Allocation System) as well as Microsoft Excel to accomplish scheduling.
- Review and process change notices, DNSB4 dates, manufacturing credit holds and ensure order is cleared for production delivery.
- Input general order information for Master Data Center Tracker as it relates to customer schedule and dates.
- Update production schedules prior to due date by the utilization of order management functions such as VISTA, Order Management System (OMS), and AS400.
- Comply with all safety rules and procedures. Understand and meet all departmental safety objectives and goals, including 5S, GEMBA, STOPS and MESH.
- Exhibit a strong adherence to quality by continually seeking methods of improvement for all functions of the position.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 6 months prior experience in production planning, scheduling, or manufacturing operations.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PBI, and ERP systems.
- Computer literate.
- Working knowledge of Lean concepts.
- Familiarity with MI’s, material transactions, or manufacturing documentation.
- Understanding of material flow, BOMs, or inventory processes.
