Shape precision. Build reliability. Join our toolroom as a Precision Tooling and Die Fabrication Specialist and spend your days transforming prints, sketches, and ideas into production-ready tooling. You will craft, maintain, and improve molds, dies, jigs, fixtures, gauges, prototype and machine parts, material-handling tools, and simple machines that keep our operations running flawlessly. A day in the life Translate engineering and tool design specifications into finished tooling: fabricate, assemble, inspect, and troubleshoot molds, dies, gauges, jigs, fixtures, prototype components, machine parts, material-handling equipment, and simple machines.Own gauge and fixture compliance: measure critical features against the master print, record findings on fixture qualification reports, and enter details into the quality compliance database.Keep tools production-ready: perform preventive and corrective maintenance on dies, molds, fixtures, gauges, material-handling equipment, and simple machines, recommending improvements to enhance reliability and performance.Work from tool requests, prints, sketches, sample parts, or verbal directions; consult technical manuals, the Machinery’s Handbook, and reference literature to determine speeds and feeds, clearances, and heat-treat requirements.Validate your craftsmanship using precision metrology: micrometers, vernier calipers, height gauges, sine bars, Jo-blocks, surface plates, dial indicators, visual comparators, and CMM equipment.Safely operate overhead cranes to move tools, dies, molds, and materials.Occasionally estimate jobs, prepare material lists, and recommend new tool designs or modifications to existing tooling for better performance.Partner with maintenance personnel to diagnose and repair equipment when needed.Promote a safe, tidy workspace—follow all environmental, health & safety guidelines and collaborate with teammates to identify and eliminate hazards. What you bring Required qualifications High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.Five-year Tool & Die Maker apprenticeship including 576 hours of vocational instruction and 10,400 hours of on-the-job training, with a Journeyman’s Toolmaker Certification.At least one (1) year operating standard machine shop tools and CNC-controlled equipment.No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area (50 miles) of the work location will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Preferred Minimum one (1) year of experience working with Autodesk CAD software. Skills and work style Adaptable across toolroom tasks and able to support multiple functions.Comfort with Microsoft Word, Excel, and enterprise applications such as SAP.Willingness to work overtime as required.You should be proficient in: GD&T, CNC tooling, troubleshooting, CAD software, manual machining, tool/die/mold repair and setup, and blueprint reading.
