Punch Press Operator (Die Setter) (Weekend Shift)

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Punch Press Operator (Die Setter) (Weekend Shift) at our Fayetteville, NC site! The hourly rate for this position is $23.00-$29.76 per hour 11.12% shift premium for weekend shift hours worked per hour. CORE HOURS: 6AM - 6PM (FRIDAY - SUNDAY) Why work at Eaton? Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. ## What you’ll do: The Die Setter will set up and operate punch press machines using multiple progressive automatic dies and automatic feed equipment. * Perform work from manufacturing information, bills of material, written and/or oral instructions. * Utilize manufacturing information, determine necessary parts/inventory, jigs/fixtures, and obtain materials from stock areas. * Provide assistance to lower - level sheet metal fabricators / operators in performance of their duties as required. * Deliver material to/from workstations using material handling equipment, position work material on coil cradle / feeder. Ensure correct parts and matching documentation reach next process in a timely fashion. * Complete necessary preparation work such as wiping, degreasing, de-burring, or grinding of components. * Pick up and place scrap in appropriate containers. Documentation / record keeping may be required. * Operate punch presses and other metal-fabrication equipment as directed. Inspect parts periodically or as directed utilizing manufacturing information such as drawings / blueprints, make necessary adjustments as required. Keep accurate piece count and other applicable records. Inform Supervisor of any quality problems. * Transport die for installation and calibration using forklift. * Maintenance of equipment such as punches, dies, hydraulic clamping systems, material feeder systems, oiling/greasing, machine settings, changing of tooling, and minor adjustments may be necessary. Complete necessary maintenance check sheets and inform Supervisor and / or Maintenance personnel of any problems. * Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly fashion, keeping oil deposits off of floor. * Observe all health/hygiene and safety policies as directed and specified. * Dismantle previous set-ups after termination of order. Move dies to tool room if sharpening or maintenance is required. * Adjust all presses with power and / or automatic feeds at initial set-up and during production. * Clear jams and malfunctions. Administer trial runs and first-part inspection. * Accountable for proper operation and placement of all safety-related equipment during set-up, operator briefing and production. #IND456 ## Qualifications: Required (Basic) Qualifications: * Must have a High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution * Must have a minimum of six months experience setting dies in a manufacturing environment * Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. Preferred Qualifications: * Previous experience with machine operation * Previous experience with operating a punch press machine ## Skills: Position Criteria: • Demonstrated proficiency with drawings and/or blueprints. • Able to drive a forklift and obtain forklift certification.
