What are the responsibilities and job description for the Traveling Service Technician position at Eaton Compressor?
General Job Description
Travels to assigned locations and performs maintenance on both EMAX and Eaton Compressor units including piston and rotary units. Will be in customers place of business and must be able to communicate effectively. Travel may include overnight stays, and overnight trips to locations within the continental USA.
Working on site will consist of testing compressor units, diagnosing and making repairs, assembly and communicating with customers as needed.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
· Services and Repairs Air Compressors, Both Rotary and Pistons
· Communicates with Customers on arrival time
· Ensures parts taken are correct to the best of their ability
o This includes checking the parts you are taking are correct
· Puts parts away that are brought back from a service that are not used
· Keeps Van clean and ensures service is done correctly
· Audits Van inventory
· Tracks spending in accordance with established guidelines
· Takes direction from service manager on duties to be performed and corresponds with service manager accordingly
· Positively represent the company via dress, appearance and attitude while out in the field and in customers place of business/residence
Certification:
· Valid driver’s license
· Ability to be placed on company insurance
· Forklift license (we will train)
· Ability to travel
· Knowledge and understanding of tools and mechanical principal
· Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with customers and staff
Education:
· Highschool Diploma or Equivalent
Experience:
· Minimum of 1 year experience in a mechanical field
· Past service experience is appropriate but not required`
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
