Sushi Chef

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Japanese cuisine, particularly in sushi preparation, and will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that delight our customers. This role requires attention to detail, creativity, and a commitment to food safety standards. Responsibilities

• Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, ensuring high quality and presentation standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations and hygiene practices.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
• Assist in menu development by suggesting new sushi items and seasonal offerings.
• Manage inventory of sushi ingredients and supplies, ensuring freshness and quality.
• Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in sushi preparation techniques.
• Participate in catering events as needed, providing exceptional service to clients.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant environment.
• Strong knife skills with the ability to prepare fish and other ingredients safely and efficiently.
• Knowledge of food handling procedures and dietary requirements related to sushi preparation.
• Experience working in a catering setting is a plus.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• A passion for culinary arts with an eagerness to learn and grow within the culinary field.
