Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Lawn Care Worker to join our dynamic landscaping team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining beautiful, healthy lawns and landscapes through a variety of groundskeeping tasks. Responsibilities
- Mow lawns using power tools such as push mowers, riding mowers, and string trimmers to ensure even and well-maintained grass surfaces
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including edging, trimming, pruning, and planting to enhance the overall appearance of outdoor spaces
- Identify various plants, shrubs, trees, and flowers to ensure proper care and health management
- Manage irrigation systems to optimize watering schedules and troubleshoot issues for efficient water use
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely for tasks like digging, planting, aerating, and installing landscape features
- Conduct lawn care activities such as fertilizing, aerating, weed control, and pest management in accordance with safety guidelines
- Assist with snow plowing and snow removal during winter months to ensure safe access to properties when necessary
Requirements
- Basic mechanical knowledge related to lawn equipment and landscape tools
- Experience with landscape maintenance, gardening, or horticulture preferred
- Ability to identify plants and understand basic plant health requirements
- Knowledge of pesticide management practices for safe application when required
- Familiarity with irrigation systems installation and troubleshooting techniques
- Previous experience operating excavators or other construction machinery is a plus
- Strong understanding of landscaping principles including hardscape installation and tree care techniques
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and lawn equipment safely and effectively
- Construction experience or background in outdoor maintenance is advantageous
- Good physical stamina with the ability to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions
