Responsibilities
- Review and verify all borrower documentation to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Analyze financial statements, credit reports, income verification, and asset documentation to assess borrower eligibility.
- Collaborate with underwriters to facilitate timely loan approvals by providing detailed loan packages and addressing any discrepancies or issues.
- Utilize financial software and SQL databases to track application progress, generate reports, and maintain meticulous records of all loan processing activities.
- Conduct thorough fraud prevention and detection procedures to identify potential risks or inconsistencies within loan applications.
- Ensure adherence to industry knowledge of financial regulations such as securities law, GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and banking regulatory compliance standards.
- Prepare and review regulatory reporting documentation while maintaining compliance with governmental accounting standards and industry-specific financial concepts.
- Support trade settlement processes related to mortgage transactions and assist in audit preparations by maintaining organized records of all processed loans.
- Apply advanced Excel data analysis skills, including pivot tables and data validation techniques, to streamline workflow efficiencies.
- Stay informed about industry trends in fixed income financial markets, investment management principles, cash management practices, and financial analysis techniques relevant to mortgage lending.
