What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Veterinary Technician position at Eastview Veterinary Clinic?
We are looking for a full time, Licensed Veterinary Technician to come join our team!
We are a 3.5 doctor practice helping our community care for their companion animals. We are proud of the medicine that we practice, and just as proud of our team that makes it possible. Our hospital offers a wide variety of cases and services, including anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, laser therapy, ultrasound, radiology and more. We're looking for an LVT that wants to stay hands-on and continue to build their skill sets.
Schedule: 8am-5pm Monday-Friday, option for occasional weekend treatment coverage.
What Our Veterinary Technicians Do:
- Safely restrain/handle small our patients
- Prepare and adminster medications, vaccines and treatments as directed
- Perform sample collection, venipuncture, catheter placement, fluid therapy
- Run in house laboratory testing, including CBC's, chemistries, urinalysis, cytology and preparing fecal testing
- Prepare patients and equipment for surgical procedures
- Monitor anesthesia, monitor patient vitals throughout procedures and throughout recovery
- Maintain complete and accurate treatment records
- Provide attentive nursing care to patients, both appointments and hospitalized
- Assist with diagnostic imaging, ultrasound, laser therapy and other hospital services
- Colloborate with veterinarians and CSR's to keep hospital running smoothly
- Provide clear client communication
What Our Veterinary Technicians Must Bring:
- Current NYS Veterinary Technician License
- Safe, compassionate, effective patient-handling restraint/skills
- Strong communication and client education skills
- Confidence with patient triage
- Strong understanding of preventative care, vaccines, common medical conditions
- Dependaility and reability is a must, strong time-management skills
- Genuine passion for veterinary medicine and continued learning
- Ability to multi-task and stay organized in fast-pased environment
Pay: $21.00 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
