What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN – Clinical Research Patient Recruitment Specialist position at Eastside Research Associates?
Eastside Research Associates (ERA) is a fast-growing clinical research company that is seeking a Clinical Recruitment Coordinator to facilitate participant recruitment and enrollment in a variety of ongoing clinical trials. They will support ERA in achieving required patient enrollment targets by recruiting participants via outreach, phone calls, emails, social media, and networking. They will coordinate participant visits and manage participant scheduling in our outpatient clinics. Must be a self-starter with strong communication skills, high organizational ability, and strong attention to detail.
Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collects medical history over the phone of interested participants and assesses what study a participant might qualify for.
- Utilizes calling, texting and emailing to continuously recruit from ERA’s existing participants database.
- Educates prospective candidates explaining side effects, benefits, qualifications and patient compensation.
- Collaborates with Clinical Research Coordinators to understand ongoing study enrollment criteria and time constraints for scheduling.
- Reviews and develops a familiarity with study protocol, proceedings and timelines, inclusion and exclusion criteria, and privacy protections.
- Collaborates with clinical team to prepare and utilize screening questionnaires that outline patient eligibility.
- Ensures a positive experience for study participants by building rapport,
- Registers research participants in the Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS) and documents patients’ medical history.
- Attends investigator meetings as required or requested by the site staff. Attends Pre-Study Start Up meetings and other required training.
- Contributes to the development of strategies for new participant acquisition through community outreach, social media, presentations at community functions, health fairs, etc.
- Able to handle multiple calls daily while answering questions and scheduling for existing research studies that are enrolling at any given time.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Active Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) License required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to think critically and creatively
- Motivational Interviewing training and/or experience preferred Ability to work well independently as well as using a collaborative team approach
Experience: clinical research: 2 years (Preferred)
