Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Store Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers while maintaining the store's operational efficiency. This position requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle various tasks in a fast-paced retail environment.
Duties
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting customers with their inquiries and purchases.
- Operate cash registers, handle cash transactions, and ensure accurate cash handling.
- Stock and maintain general business flow.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store, including stocking shelves and arranging displays.
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving shipments and conducting stock counts.
- Utilize basic math skills for retail transactions and ensure accuracy in pricing.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a grocery store or retail environment is preferred but not required.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse clientele.
- Proficiency in cash handling and operating cash registers.
- Basic math skills for accurate transaction processing and inventory management.
- Excellent phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries over the phone.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being able to work independently when necessary.
- A proactive attitude towards upselling products and promoting store specials.
