Retail Associate

Position Summary

The Retail Associate plays an important role in delivering an excellent in-store customer experience by assisting customers with pool and backyard product needs, maintaining store organization, and supporting daily retail operations. This position is responsible for providing friendly service, answering product questions, and ensuring the retail space is clean, stocked, and welcoming.

Retail Associates work closely with store leadership and service teams to help customers find the right products and solutions to keep their pools safe, clean, and enjoyable.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Sales Support

• Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner

• Assist customers with product selection, questions, and basic pool care needs

• Provide recommendations on pool chemicals, accessories, and seasonal supplies

• Promote store programs, services, and special offers when appropriate

Store Operations

• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system for customer purchases

• Handle cash, credit, and returns accurately and responsibly

• Maintain clean and organized store displays and checkout areas

• Support opening and closing procedures as assigned

Inventory & Merchandising

• Stock shelves and ensure products are properly labeled and displayed

• Assist with receiving shipments and organizing inventory

• Monitor stock levels and communicate replenishment needs to management

• Help maintain a safe and tidy retail environment

Team Collaboration

• Work closely with store managers and team members to meet customer needs

• Communicate customer feedback or concerns to leadership

• Support a positive, team-oriented workplace culture

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• Previous customer service or retail experience is a plus

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules during peak seasons

• Ability to lift and carry up to 25–50 lbs (pool products, chemicals, supplies)

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of pool supplies, chemicals, or outdoor living products

• Experience using POS systems and handling transactions

• Interest in learning basic pool water care and product applications
