Temporary Summer Grounds/Maintenance Help
Hours:
8 hours/day
- Start date: June 16th (or to be determined)
- Times: 7:00am - 4:00pm
- End date approximately August 31st (or to be determined)
Duties & Qualifications:
- Primary duties to assist in moving district/school materials between properties to facilitate construction project and relocation of classrooms.
- React to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned.
- Assist in the maintenance of school facilities as directed.
- Assist in the maintenance of school grounds to ensure grounds are in excellent condition.
- Ability to operate equipment in the performance of a full range of landscaping duties including, but not limited to: edging, pruning, hedging, pulling weeds, raking, sidewalk edging, garbage dumping, digging, cleaning up parking lot debris, etc.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with other maintenance staff, members of the district and community.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
- Ability to take and follow instructions.
- Proven record of dependability a must.
- Safely and effectively able to operate walk-behind mower, sidewalk edger, line trimmer, power edger, blower, and other landscaping tools as assigned.
- Valid Washington State driver's license.
- Drive service truck as required; load and unload materials and supplies.
- Assist other maintenance staff in projects as needed.
- Related duties as assigned.
- Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials.
- Requires stooping, kneeling, crawling, bending, turning, and reaching, climbing, and balancing.
- Must work outdoors in changing weather conditions.
- Must work in noisy and crowded environments and in/around dust, fumes, and odors
- Attendance and punctuality are required in this position.
Physical Requirements:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands:
- Significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, lifting, and/or crawling
- Generally this job requires 50% lifting/carrying, 30% walking, and 20% standing/stooping
- Ability to work in all ranges of temperatures and weather according to the region (primarily heat)
