Maintenance Mechanic

Responsibilities Safely perform general maintenance work as required, including repairs, modifications, and inspections Perform maintenance repairs and/or troubleshooting on rotating and fixed equipment (pumps, blowers, compressors, piping, valves, heat exchangers, gear reducers, hydraulic systems, boilers, steam systems, pressure vessels, storage tanks) Perform work using a forklift, man-lift, dollies, machine shop machine tools (lathe, milling machine, drill press) and other equipment Operate rigging equipment such as hoists, overhead cranes and mobile cranes Perform a wide variety of predictive and preventative maintenance tasks Perform precision tasks (fitting of bearings, aligning gears and shafts, connecting couplings and belts to precise tolerances) Use of SAP Plant Maintenance Module for accessing and documenting maintenance work and ordering parts Understand and be proficient at taking precision measurements, including precision laser alignment Write, review and follow all standard operating and maintenance procedures and job plans Understand, troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues utilizing technical skills, equipment, and information such as drawings and manuals Review and follow all safety rules, procedures and practices for the safety of themselves, other employees and contractors Actively participate in all plant related Health, Safety, Environmental and Security training, policies and programs Qualifications HS Diploma or equivalent required Minimum of 5 years of experience performing maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems in industrial field desired Strong mechanical aptitude for trouble-shooting and problem solving A strong commitment to working safely and to the safety of others Eastman Chemical Company is an equal opportunity employer.
