Duties
- Perform a wide range of dental treatments including examinations, cleanings, restorations, extractions, root canal therapy, prosthodontics, orthodontics, oral surgery, and implant placement.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments utilizing medical and dental histories, clinical examinations, and diagnostic imaging to develop accurate diagnoses.
- Utilize dental terminology effectively to communicate treatment plans and procedures clearly with patients and team members.
- Maintain detailed medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and state healthcare laws.
- Apply aseptic techniques and infection control protocols rigorously to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Collaborate with specialists such as endodontists, orthodontists, and oral surgeons when advanced procedures are required.
- Use dental practice management software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, Dentrix for scheduling, charting, billing, and medical documentation management.
- Educate patients on oral health best practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term wellness.
- Stay current with advancements in general dentistry techniques, materials, and technology to provide cutting-edge care.
Requirements
- Valid state dental license with current DEA certification if applicable.
- Proven experience in general dentistry with proficiency in dental diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Familiarity with dental software platforms including Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and healthcare diagnosis processes.
- Competence in performing dental extractions, root canal therapy, prosthodontics (crowns, bridges), orthodontics basics, oral surgery procedures including implants.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations; experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and state healthcare laws governing medical records management.
- Skilled in utilizing medical imaging tools for diagnosis; understanding of dental fabrication processes is advantageous.
