Patient Care Coordinator

Schedule: Monday–Friday

Seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to support patient access, scheduling, and front office operations in a fast-paced academic dental environment. This position serves as a primary point of contact for patients and plays a key role in delivering an excellent patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients in person and by phone in a professional and courteous manner
• Schedule patient appointments and manage provider calendars
• Verify insurance eligibility and explain benefits to patients
• Collect co-payments and process patient payments
• Coordinate patient flow between front office and clinical teams
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in Dentrix
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and patient privacy regulations
• Address patient questions and concerns and escalate issues as appropriate
• Collaborate effectively with faculty, residents, and clinical staff
• May be asked on occasion to assist at neighboring Cleveland Dental Institute locations

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English for patient care, safety, and documentation
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Basic computer proficiency
• Ability to work full-time, Monday through Friday
• Professional demeanor and patient-focused approach
• Successful completion of a background check is required

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a dental or medical office
• Experience using Dentrix practice management software
• Knowledge of dental insurance verification and billing
• Bilingual skills (preferred but not required)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout the clinic for extended periods
• Ability to bend, reach, lift, and carry up to 25 pounds
• Ability to perform repetitive motions, including hand and wrist movements
• Ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively to perform job duties safely
• Ability to work in a clinical environment with exposure to noise, chemicals, and bodily fluids, using appropriate protective equipment
