Key Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality nuclear medicine studies including Nuclear Stress Tests, following established protocols.
- Prepare patients for procedures, explaining steps clearly and compassionately to reduce anxiety.
- Confirm and review physician orders before all nuclear exams.
- Ensure strict adherence to all radiation safety and compliance standards.
- Monitor patients throughout procedures, observing vital signs and responding appropriately to any adverse reactions.
- Maintain accurate logs, patient documentation, and imaging records in accordance with regulatory and practice standards.
- Enter and update procedure information in the electronic medical record (EMR), EPIC experience preferred.
- Stay current with advancements in nuclear medicine technology and safety practices.
- Support general departmental duties as needed in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Requirements:
- Active Nuclear Medicine Technologist license (State of Michigan).
- ARRT (N) or CNMT certification is required.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical nuclear medicine setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and nuclear medicine principles.
- Experience with EMR systems required. Epic strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to operate nuclear medicine equipment and follow radiation safety protocols.
- Excellent patient communication skills with the ability to explain complex medical information clearly and with empathy.
- Strong attention to detail with commitment to accurate documentation.
