Position Overview
Easthampton Clay is seeking a creative, organized, and highly motivated Social Media Manager to support our digital presence and storytelling efforts. This role is ideal for someone who understands the EHC brand vision, appreciates community-driven creative spaces, and is excited to help grow and engage our audience.
The Social Media Intern will work directly under Hadley Byrne, General Manager, and collaborate closely on content planning, strategy, and execution. This position requires approximately 5–10 hours per week with a flexible schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Brainstorming and developing engaging social media content aligned with EHC’s brand and programming
- Filming and photographing studio life, classes, events, artists, scripted video sketches, finished work, how-to videos, etc.
- Editing short-form video content (Reels, TikToks, etc.) and preparing images for posting
- Drafting captions and scheduling posts across social media platforms
- Identifying license free music selections for social media posts
- Assisting in the development and refinement of social media strategies
- Monitoring engagement and helping identify growth opportunities
- Staying current on social media trends and recommending ideas that align with EHC’s voice and values
QualificationsRequired
- Demonstrated social media experience (portfolio or examples required)
- Strong understanding of Instagram and short-form video platforms
- Basic photography and video skills (phone-based content creation is acceptable)
- Strong writing skills and attention to detail
- Proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Preferred (but not required)
- Current or former Easthampton Clay student
- Experience working in a clay studio or ceramics background
- Familiarity with creative community spaces
Compensation
- $18–$20 per hour, depending on experience
- Work-trade options may be available for the right candidate.
- 5 hours / week to start with potential to grow
