What are the responsibilities and job description for the Diagnostic Evaluator Trainee position at Easterseals Northern California?
The Diagnostic Evaluator Trainee conducts initial diagnostic assessments, and second opinion assessments using standard diagnostic tools. This role involves preparing, administering tests, establishing diagnoses when appropriate, and producing comprehensive reports in line with clinical best practices. Trainees receive 1 hour of direct, individual supervision weekly, along with 3 additional hours of supervision during Diagnostic Evaluation appointments.

Core Responsibilities & Essential Job Functions
- Provides diagnostic assessments and other behavioral treatment/assessment/psychotherapy as assigned under the supervision of a licensed psychologist
- Communicate results to clients and partners in a feedback session
- Complete after visit summaries and Diagnostic Evaluation reports as assigned
- Work independently and to be flexible in changing work priorities
- Exercise confidentiality and discretion pertaining to the work environment.

- Enforce Easterseals Northern California policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the local, state, federal, and funder regulatory agency rules.
- Enforce Company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory agency rules as accreditation and funding agencies.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure successful delivery and application of services in day-to-day operations
Qualifications
Minimum Education, Experience & Training Equivalent to:
- Doctorate (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Psychology from an accredited program
- Completion of an APA-accredited predoctoral internship
- Solid foundation and hands-on experience with relevant psychological assessment tools
- Experience working with children and young adults with developmental disabilities preferred
- Experience in administering, interpreting, and reporting on standardized assessments
Knowledge & Skills:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of HIPAA practices and adherence to policies.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, lift up to 40 lbs, and be comfortable spending time on your feet.
- Must be able to travel to the designated Easterseals Northern California clinic
Conditions of Employment
- Must have a valid California Driver’s License with insurance and maintain a clean driving record.
- Must pass health screenings, obtain required vaccinations, and clear TB testing based on company policies.
- Must obtain and maintain criminal record clearance through the Department of Justice (DOJ). The People & Performance Department will analyze DOJ/FBI live scan reports in accordance with applicable Federal, State, and Local laws, as well as fitness for the position.
- Must obtain and maintain clearance through the Office of Inspector General.
- Must obtain and maintain CPR, Safety Care, and National Provider Identifier (NPI) certifications.
