- Possess current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Michigan.
- Two (2) years of professional nursing experience; one (1) year of supervisory experience preferred.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license in the State of Michigan.
- Must possess a knowledge and understanding of co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders (e.g., Stages of Change, Phases of Recovery, and Motivational Interviewing)
- Supervises nurses and medical assistants in designated service area(s).
- Ensures coverage of essential nursing and medical assistant duties.
- Implements quality assurance standards for the agency and evaluates compliance with the standards.
- Assures training and supervision of Medical Services staff to assure competency of skills and a high level of performance. Enforces qualification standards for employment and performance.
- Participates in hiring of Medical Services employees.
- Oversees daily functioning of walk-in clinic services, including supervision of the medical assistant.
- Performs nursing assessments (e.g., screening/education about nicotine, diet, exercise, medications, etc.) and establishes/updates care plan on all patients as needed.
- Administers and monitors medications ordered by psychiatrist. Provide support, education, and reinforce use of prescribed medications to treat substance use and mental health disorders.
