Eastern Action (Eastern West Virginia Community Action) is seeking dynamic team members to serve as full-time Employment Specialists providing services to the state of WV.
*Preference will be given to applicants residing in the Clarksburg/Morgantown area due to travel radius for service provision.*

Veteran status preferred Bachelor's Degree in related filed or equivalent work/life experience. Ability to work with senior management and hiring managers within client companies to ensure successful partnerships. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Adept at communicating expectations, providing feedback and managing an efficient process. Ability to work under minimal supervision. Strong organizational skills, including time management and multi-tasking. PC Proficiency in MS Office and the ability to navigate within various technology systems. Professional manner and appearance. Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation required.
Job duties include: Develop and manage relationships with senior level professionals and Human Resources managers that will open the doors for new employment opportunities for Veterans. Develop a detailed individual employment plan to ensure a full understanding of candidate employment requirements, and match to business needs. Develop and maintain a comprehensive network of contacts to identify and source qualified veterans across a diverse range of positions, industries and geographies. Be able to demonstrate the ability to effectively use multi-channel sourcing activities such as social networking sites, career sites, professional organizations, etc. to identify potential employment opportunities. Identify new employer opportunities through various business development techniques including cold calling, following up on warm leads, and attending networking events; consistently research ways to create partnerships with local businesses. Deliver organized, structured, and persuasive presentations that communicate Eastern Action’s mission, goals, values, and brand. Meets with veterans on a weekly basis or as otherwise needed to understand their identified target job objectives and barriers to employment. Assists veterans with documenting work history, marketable skills, and interest for employment search. Assists veterans with creating a professional resume and cover letter, as well as helping create a master application to use as a reference when completing applications for employment. Documents all progress in the case note section of the veteran file and/or on various workforce forms in the veteran file. Obtains Employment Verification Letter (EVL) and/or pay stub from veterans within first two weeks of employment. Assists with securing interviews for veterans based on information obtained during the Veteran intake and employment plan meeting. Confers with supervisor to address potential/actual clientele barriers to employment. Maintains data on client engagement and job opportunities and provide reports on progress and goals. Maintains follow-up contact with veterans up to 12 months after employment placement. Ability to meet or exceed performance metrics. Performs other duties as assigned

This is a full-time with exempt-salary classification. Compensation will be based on experience.
