Outside Sales Assistant (56647)

The Outside Sales Assistant (OSA) reports to the Store Manager but takes direction from the Outside Sales Manager and/or the Regional Sales Manager for the location(s) they are assigned.  The OSA’s primary responsibility is to maintain the inventory by restocking of customer locations.  The OSA makes weekly or bi-weekly visits to assigned accounts, writes stock orders and makes certain the inventory is clean and neat.  The OSA then faxes or hand carries the stock order back to his/her location.

Essential Functions & Requirements

•    Validate Inventories
•    Complete Inventory Updates
•    Make suggested sales based on the Commodity Book or Monthly Specials
•    Assist with changeovers.
•    Attend all zone meetings and occasional industry functions where the Company participates when asked.
•    Support the Eastern Auto Parts Warehouse vision and mission in all activities.
•    Accept and demonstrate the Eastern Auto Parts Warehouse Core Values of commitment, open communication, respect and excellent service. 
•    Represent Eastern Auto Parts Warehouse and conduct all activities in a professional, business-like manner
•    Comply with all Company employment policies and safety and substance abuse prevention policies.

Qualifications:  

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.  

•    Prior sales experience a plus but not required
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Internet Explorer.
•    Valid and clean driver’s license that meets minimum MVR standards of the Company.
•    Integrity and the ability to handle confidential information.
•    Ability to handle difficult situations professionally and in a non-confrontational manner.
•    Ability to trouble shoot and problem solve.
•    Ability to work as part of a team.
•    Ability to work a flexible schedule.

Physical Requirements:  

•    Walking, Sitting and standing for 8-10 hours per day
•    Hearing and vision adequate for working in a sales and dispatch environment.
•    Repetitive use of hands for writing and typing
•    Occasional  bending, stooping, twisting, kneeling, reaching, grasping
•    Occasional lifting objects weighing 5 - 50 lbs.

Scope of Responsibility:  This position has no supervisory responsibility for other full time or part time employees
