PIPELAYER

Eastern States Construction Service, Inc. is seeking applications for an experienced Pipelayer to be responsible for assisting in the installation and repair or sanitary and storm water sewer structures and pipe systems while continually learning and further developing skills.

Duties include:

Ensure all work is performed in a safe and efficient manner and quality standards are met * Assist in the set-up and operation of lasers and transits * Read grade poles for pipe installation and grading operation * Align and position pipes to prepare them for welding or sealing * Bench, shore or slope excavations * Check slopes for conformance to requirements using levels or lasers * Connect pipe pieces and seal joints using welding equipment, cement or glue * Measure and cut pipes to required lengths * Dig trenches to desired or required depths, by hand or using trenching tools * Grade and level trench bases and culverts using tamping machines and hand tools * Lift, carry and hold materials, tools and equipment * Locate existing pipes in need of repair or replacement * Using hand tools, mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete, asphalt, or gravel * Operate mechanized equipment such as rollers, tamps, jackhammers * Hand dig to visually check for utilities

To be successful in this position you must have a passion for construction, getting the job done right and safely as well as the ability to perform intense manual labor, comprehend and follow instruction, and a minimum two years pipelaying experience.

Valid driver's license, drug screening and background check required.
