What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead/Assistant Teacher position at Eastern Star Day Care Center?
We are a licensed center under the NYS Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS). Staff must be 18 years or older. 1 year of experience with young children, associate degree in Early Childhood or related field or CDA, and a strong understanding of child development preferred. Must also be reliable, responsible, caring/nurturing to their needs, energetic and able to work well with others. Attendance and work ethic is very important as we rely on staff present to meet teacher: child ratios under our NYS licensing regulations.
Responsibilities
- Implement age-appropriate curriculum to engage children in learning activities.
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children under your care.
- Planning and executing daily lessons and activities.
- Support children's social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Monitor and supervise children during playtime, meals, and rest periods.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a cohesive and supportive classroom environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
