Responsibilities

• Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, oral surgery, and pediatric dentistry with precision and professionalism.
• Prepare treatment rooms by setting up dental tools and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly while maintaining strict infection control techniques.
• Take dental radiographs (X-ray imaging), including 3D scans when necessary, following all safety protocols to protect patients and staff.
• Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Support patients by taking vital signs, explaining procedures clearly using appropriate dental terminology, and addressing questions or concerns with empathy.
• Perform chairside assisting during procedures by handing instruments, managing suction devices, and ensuring patient comfort throughout treatment.
• Maintain infection control standards through proper sterilization procedures and adherence to aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for everyone.
• Collaborate with the dental team as part of four-handed dentistry practices to improve efficiency and patient outcomes.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a dental office environment is preferred, but not required.
• Familiarity with dental X-ray procedures and radiation safety standards is preferred. Training and certification can be provided as needed.
• Basic knowledge of chairside assisting techniques, including taking vital signs and assisting with medical imaging procedures, is a plus.
• Familiarity with medical records management, medical coding, and HIPAA compliance is helpful but not required.
• Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach when interacting with patients of all ages, especially pediatric patients.
• Ability to learn new skills and procedures and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and high standards of infection control.
• A positive, dependable, and team-oriented attitude is essential.
