Maintenance Worker

Job Title:                            Maintenance Staff       

General Definition:

                                              In this position the selected candidate will be responsible for all aspects of entry level facilities maintenance at ESTO.  They will also work in cooperation with fellow employees to provide routine maintenance of all ESTO structures, buildings, and grounds.  Hours may vary according to business needs and other duties as assigned. The highest duty of this position is to provide effective and timely service to Tribal members and fellow employees.

Essential Job Functions:

·         Receives written work orders or verbal instructions from the Director.

·         Performs entry level facilities maintenance upkeep and repair activities as needed and directed

·         Uses tools and equipment and operates vehicles in a safe manner.

·         Maintains and repairs wood structures, repairs, and replaces building brick, stone and concrete as needed.

·         Maintains an accurate record of repairs and assignments in a timely manner, within budget guidelines and following established standards established by maintenance policies and procedures.

·         Completes all assigned tasks in a timely manner and interacts courteously with Tribal members, co-workers, staff, customers, and the public in general.

·         Cuts grass and trims weeds on organization’s property.

·         Brush-hogs unwanted growth on tribal property and maintains roads and ditches as directed.

·         May be required to work hours outside the standard (storm damage, snow removal, emergency facilities repair, etc.) when required. 

·         Operates snow removal equipment safely to maintain parking lots and sidewalks during inclement weather.

·         Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

·         High School Diploma or GED required

·         Respect for all Tribal Members, Tribal Officials, Supervisors, and Co-Workers

Licenses/Certifications/Other:

·         Must be able to pass a background check as a condition of employment.

·         Must be able to complete pre-employment drug test with a negative result.

·         Positive verifiable references and work history.

·         Current valid driver’s license
