Job Summary: Under supervision of the Patient Access Manager obtains necessary patient information for the efficient and timely processing of the patient scan, report and insurance claim filing. Cordially and professionally greet and serve all patients, physicians/physician office staff and visitors.
Days: Monday - Friday from 4:00pm - 9:00pm with occasional weekends from 8:00am - 8:00pm

- Answers, directs and takes messages of telephone calls and greets patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
- Obtain and verify necessary insurance information for patient account.
- Collection of deductibles, copayments and/or any monies due on patient account
- Verify patient identity.
- In-put patient data for the creation of the patient account
- Assembling patient information to be utilized by Technologists and Radiologists
- Notifies patients of delays, rescheduling, etc. of their appointment
- Practice cost-containment measures in all aspects of the facility
- Comply with the policy and procedures set forth by Eastern Radiologists, Inc.
- Performs other job-related duties as prescribed by the Practice Administrator and Radiologists
- Verifies insurance authorizations.
- Scan paperwork into MedInformatix (referrals, photo ID, and authorizations).
- Make sure all patients have referrals scanned.
- Education: High School Graduate or equivalent (GED)
- Experience: Prior medical office, insurance and collection experience recommended
- Certification/License/Registration: None
- Position Titles and Number Supervised: None.
- Special Training/Skills: Must be able to remain calm in stressful situations. Ability to be flexible and work on multiple projects. Ability to interact well on all levels. Must always be courteous with patients and interdepartmental personnel.
- Physical Demands: General vision, clear speech, hearing, reading, writing, standing, walking. May use some repetitive movements, bend, kneel or move or carry light objects.
- Working Conditions: Works in a medical facility. Works with others verbally and with face-to-face contact.
