What are the responsibilities and job description for the Activities Assistant position at Eastern Plumas Health Care?
We have a current opening for an Activities Assistant for the Skilled Nursing Facility at our Portola Campus. This is a full-time position, five, eight-hour days per week. This position will require working days, and some nights.
Wage Scale: $19-$21

Position Summary:
The primary function of the Activities Assistant is to assist in the planning, implementation and carrying out of activities of the SNF/Long Term Care Residents.
Position Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Can be a Certified Nurse Aid, but not required
- Have a sincere interest in working with the elderly or dependent adults
- Prior patient care in extended care facilities is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
- Computer skills and knowledge are required
- CPR certified (within 6 mos. of hire)
Primary Responsibilities:
- To provide weekend and holiday coverage in Activities, and relief coverage in the absence of the Activity Coordinator. To also provide additional coverage for special events and outings.
- To implement fully the daily activity program as indicated on the activity calendar.
- To document in the individual resident’s charts the daily activities of each resident.
- Assist with outings and other activities as needed.
