Responsibilities
- Escorts patients to and from exam rooms as appropriate.
- Records patient data prior to each provider visit, including but not limited to, vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
- Obtains all necessary patient records as required by provider and verifies presence of consent prior to treatment or procedures.
- Prepares and stocks exam rooms and orders supplies as needed.
- Assists provider with exams and procedures as requested.
- Administers subcutaneous and intramuscular injections.
- Maintains all exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
- Obtains new patient records and previous test results, x-rays, scans, etc.
Qualifications
- Registered or certified medical assistant.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic pharmacology to support accurate clinical documentation and patient care.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- Experience working with EHR systems and proficiency (eClinicalWorks is a plus).
- Ability to perform clinical duties including taking vital signs, assisting with intake assessments, and supporting inpatient or outpatient procedures.
