Summary
Manage and supervise operational personnel and services of assigned patient care area; ensure effective delivery of clinical patient care and compliance with administrative and clinical policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Candidates with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) and at least ten (10) years of directly related clinical experience may be considered in lieu of a BSN.
- Must hold an active, unrestricted RN license in North Carolina or a compact state with eligibility to practice in NC until NC license is obtained.
- Minimum of five (5) years of clinical nursing experience, ideally in nephrology, care coordination, or chronic disease management.
- At least three (3) years of supervisory or team leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
Preferred
- Nephrology or Internal Medicine, Outpatient Dialysis Unit or Acute Dialysis Unit
- Experience in Value Based Care
Licensure/Registration/Certification
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse, must maintain licensure with the North Carolina (NC) Board of Nursing in good standing.
- Ability to pass criminal background check.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience with clinical evidence-based tools; MCG and/or InterQual.
- Demonstrated computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Email, and applicable EMR/Practice Management Systems.
- Demonstrated human relations and effective communications skills are required.
- Ability to communicate well with physicians, medical providers, staff, and patients.
- Responsible for maintaining continuing education credits and renewal of license prior to expiration.
- CPR and First Aid Certified.
- Valid NC drivers’ license and reliable transportation to allow individuals to provide support to offsite locations as necessary.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude in all aspects of work from patient care to interaction with physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and co-workers.
- Communicate Eastern Nephrology Associates’, PLLC, policies and procedures to employees and serves as a liaison between employees, administrative, and medical staff.

Supervisory Responsibilities
- 2 locations
- Supervise up to 10 Direct reports and 5 indirect reports
Essential Functions
- Direct, supervise and evaluate work activities of medical, nursing, and other personnel to achieve departmental and practice goals. 25%
- Plan, schedule and organize work for groups ensuring proper distribution and delegation of assignments and efficient utilization of personnel, space and facilities, overall accountability for the requisition, care and maintenance of unit inventory, equipment, and supplies. 25%
- Plan, implement, and administer policies, programs, and services in a health care or medical facility, including personnel administration, training, and coordination of medical, nursing, and other staff. 15%
- Champion Value Based Care and directly evaluate the quality of the care given to the patients by staff through personal observation, patient interviews, and the use of other evaluative tools. 20%
- Provide assistance to the Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants as needed and communicate with physician regarding patient concerns, changes in care, additional follow up and referrals. 10%

Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand, talk, and listen for up to 8 hours.
- Occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Full range of body motion, manual dexterity, and hand-eye coordination are necessary.
- Frequently lifts or moves up to 10 pounds; appropriate tools (e.g., hand carts) must be used for heavier loads.
- Data entry involves repetitive motion for approximately 2 hours per day.
- Requires visual acuity (corrected or uncorrected) to accurately read and record job-related and patient information.
- Moderate risk of exposure to bloodborne pathogens and OPIM.
Work Environment
- Travel approximately 25% of the time between locations.
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior clinical office work environment. The noise level is usually moderate.
- Work with patients, patient relatives, vendors, nurses, and other medical professionals.
- Must be able to work more than a forty (40) hour work week as needed to accomplish the mission of the organization.
