Job Title Home Delivered Meals Driver Hours Required 13.75 Job Description and Hours The Home Delivered Meals Driver is responsible for delivery of noon meals to homebound elderly; working 2-3 hours per day Monday through Friday as scheduled. POSITION SUMMARY: The Home Delivered Meals Driver is responsible for delivery of noon meals to homebound elderly; working 2-3 hours per day Monday through Friday as scheduled. North Omaha Meals on Wheels route. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Must report to work as scheduled on a regular and reliable basis. Successfully complete all required pre-service orientation and training. Must insure confidentiality of all client information and act in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Ability to understand and comply with various laws, rules, regulations, policies and guidelines as they pertain to both ENOA and ENHSA. Be a strong team player with positive attitude and maintain effective work relationships with ENOA staff, the clients and the general public. Ability to operate a motor vehicle. Deliver meals to homebound elderly. Ability to read city maps and correctly identify addresses of meal program clients. Assist in meal distribution at food caterer and satellite locations as needed. Complete time sheets and mileage forms and submit to supervisor on a timely basis. Notify Home Delivered Meals central office staff when difficulties in delivery of meals occur. Other duties as assigned. OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 19 years of age. Must possess a valid motor Vehicle Operator’s License from the State of residence (Nebraska or Iowa) or become licensed in that state within 30 days of date of hire. Must have good driving record (no moving violations within last twelve (12) months or chargeable accidents within last two (2) years, as verified through the Department of Motor Vehicles in each state of residence during that time period. Must not have been convicted of Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) or Driving Under the Influence (DUI) within the last five (5) years. Must have a car and State required car insurance. Must be able to lift 25 pounds. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to properly deliver the correct meals to client by discerning diet code markings. Ability to maintain a professional attitude at all times, meeting time lines and quality service requirements of the agency. Familiarity and ability to drive in the geographic service area in a variety of road conditions.
