General Summary
Provide support to the Department of Mathematics & Statistics.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities
A Bachelor's Degree.
GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Admission to the M.S. Mathematics Program or the M.S. Applied Statistics Program.
Maintenance of a 67% course completion.
Enrollment in at least 6 graduate credits in the Department of Mathematics & Statistics during the fall and winter semesters.
Ability to work 10 hours per week (50% graduate assistantship) or 20 hours per week (100% graduate assistantship) is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong content knowledge in undergraduate mathematics (e.g., algebra, trigonometry, and/or introductory statistics).
Ability to build rapport with students and create a supportive, inclusive learning environment.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to a positive tutoring center culture.
Experience tutoring, teaching, or supporting students in an academic setting.
Awareness of challenges such as math anxiety and willingness to support students’ confidence and persistence.
