Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Boring Mill Machine Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and maintain CNC boring mills to produce precision-engineered components that meet strict quality standards. Your expertise in CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge will be essential in ensuring efficient production processes.

Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC boring mills
- Interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) specifications to guide machining operations.
- Program CNC machines using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and manual CNC programming techniques to optimize machining processes.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify dimensions and ensure quality control.
- Maintain machine tools by performing routine inspections, adjustments, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
- Follow safety protocols diligently while handling power tools, hand tools, tooling, and welding equipment.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams on tooling setups, assembly procedures, and process improvements aligned with lean manufacturing principles.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating CNC boring mills or similar machinery such as CNC lathes and CNC milling machines.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages like G-code and M-code; experience with Fagor and Fanuc programs is prefered
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and applying GD&T standards for precise machining.
- Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM), CAM programming software, SolidWorks, CAD software, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and dial indicators accurately.
- Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and machine settings.
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods; ability to lift heavy tooling or parts safely using hand tools or forklifts.
- Commitment to safety practices in a fast-paced manufacturing environment; willingness to participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
