Position Summary
The Machine Shop Supervisor is responsible for the overall leadership, operation, and performance of the machine shop and machine shop team members. Essential Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily operations of the machine shop to ensure production goals, quality standards, and delivery schedules are achieved
- Assign work to machine shop employees and monitor productivity throughout the shift
- Lead, coach, and develop team members while promoting accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
- Perform CNC machine setups and inspect parts to verify quality and adherence to specifications
- Monitor production throughout the shift and communicate production updates through end-of-shift reports
- Ensure employees follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and standard operating procedures
- Conduct employee performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback
- Identify and resolve production issues quickly to minimize downtime and improve efficiency
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
- Assist with other duties and special projects as assigned to support business needs

Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- 3 years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment
- Strong CNC machining experience, including machine setup and quality inspection
- Ability to read and use tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and hold employees accountable
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic math skills
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities
- Willingness to take a hands-on approach and assist with production as needed
