Outside Sales Trainee

Purpose of position: Under general supervision, to help support and grow our business in the Charlotte area. Some industrial Metals experience is preferred but not required. Apprenticeship as an inside sales person focused on new/reactivated account development.
Duties and Responsibilities: The following duties are typical of those performed by employees in this job title; however, employees may perform other related duties, and not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each employee in the job title:
- New account development and prospecting via phone and eventually in person
- Increasing share at existing accounts
- Become expert at EMS' computer system
- New product introduction
- Effectively communicate EMS’ distinct proficiencies
- Margin improvement initiatives
- Suggestions for adding new inventory items
- Prepare and present pricing and proposals to customers
- Maintaining computer records as to customers volume, usage and competitive feedback
- Effective time and territory management for eventual traveling
Qualifications:
- Clean driving record free of DWI's or other major convictions such as careless and reckless driving, hit and run, etc. over the past 5 years is necessary!
- Must be willing to sign our standard non-compete agreement.
- Four year college degree is preferred
- Ability to organize, plan and prioritize duties: Detail oriented
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong math skills are required
- Willingness to relocate in the future may increase chances of advancement
