What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2nd shift Warehouse Supervisor position at Eastern Metal Supply of NC Inc?
Purpose of position: oversee material handling, accuracy of orders picked, routing and loading our delivery trucks as wells as organize, motivate and lead a team of warehouse employees. This is a hands-on position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain the overall safety, quality and performance standards within the facility.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization’s policies and procedures.
- Ensure the accuracy of the inventory.
- Ensure operation stays within budget and operates efficiently.
- Effectively services internal and external customers.
- Ensure that the distribution center complies with all local, state and federal laws. Including DOT, EEOC and OSHA.
- Picking multi line orders
- Wrapping orders
- Quality assurance
- Staging and loading orders onto trucks
- Cleanliness of warehouse
Qualifications:
- Operate a standup Raymond 4 Directional forklift.
- Be able to read, write and communicate in English effectively.
- Perform basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
- Read a tape measure.
- Experience jockeying commercial vehicles including tractor trailers
- Be able to stand for extensive periods.
- Be able to bend over, reach upwards or outwards, twist, turn around and climb up.
- Be able to perform job tasks repetitiously at a very fast pace.
- Be able to maintain regular, predictable attendance.
- Be able to lift heavy objects, 50 – 100 lbs with and without assistance.
