Job Summary/Basic Functions

Colonel Crew Leaders (CCLs) are undergraduate student volunteers who are responsible for helping all new first-year Colonels positively connect, transition, and build excitement for their EKU college experience. Colonel Crew Leaders will partner with a group of first-year students as they engage in dynamic programming, discussions, and experiences during Big E Welcome 2026. CCL's must be responsible, reliable, flexible, and excited to share your love for EKU in a positive experience for first-year students.

Colonel Crew Leaders support Big E Welcome events and programs. Volunteer responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Supporting students throughout Big E Welcome by answering questions, sharing tips, experiences, and resources from personal EKU experience.
• Promoting the pillars of the Eastern experience throughout Big E Welcome.
• Creating a positive and welcoming environment at all Big E Welcome events
• Leading group activities and discussions.
• Abiding by Colonel Crew Expectations Contract and the EKU Code of Conduct.
• Other duties as assigned.

Ability to connect with first-year students, parents, faculty, and staff

Have an appreciation for and ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and personalities

Job Duties:

• Assist small groups of first-year students through activities and discussions designed to build their connection, excitement, and knowledge of EKU. - (Essential)
