Complete scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair of Baggage Handling Systems and/or Passenger Boarding Bridges; Mentors, trains and assigns tasks of other personnel assigned to assist in maintenance and repair activities.

Responsibilities

  • Completes maintenance assignments involving but not limited to preventive, routine and emergency maintenance, clearing system jams; shift inspections, cleaning, and/or electrical and mechanical adjustments.
  • Ability to complete complex equipment installations involving high (480v) and/or low voltage electrical components.
  • Monitors system operation; diagnoses equipment failures; ensures equipment is running safely.
  • Provides direction, guidance and expertise to other personnel assigned to assist in maintenance and repair activities; conducts training and mentoring responsibilities, assigns tasks, may act as lead in the absence of senior personnel.
  • Reads and interprets repair manuals, schematics and supervisor/manager’s instructions.
  • Works in tight and/or high spaces utilizing appropriate PPE and fall protection equipment.
  • Follows and complies with all company and federally established policies and procedures; completes all applicable training courses assigned by the company
  • Completes forms connected with work assignments according to established procedures.
  • Compliance with all EIM safety programs, policies and procedures.

Perform additional duties/assignments that may be required by management from time to time.

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Minimum 10 years of previous mechanical or electrical experience
  • Ability to work a non-traditional schedule including weekends and holidays.
  • Previous work experience in an airport environment.
  • Previous experience working on conveyors and/or passenger boarding bridges
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and engineering drawings.
  • Basic knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in an industrial environment.
  • HVAC, welding/ brazing, and/or plumbing knowledge and skills
  • Minimum 10 years of previous electrical and/or electronic systems work experience
  • General understanding of PLC logic.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience mentoring/guiding and directing maintenance personnel
  • Ability to safely operate various lifts (forklift, man lift, etc).
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer knowledge, at an intermediate level in working with Microsoft Windows to include Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Other Requirements:

  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Must be able obtain and maintain an Airport Security badge
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the Company’s insurance policy
  • Must be able to comply with the EIM Drug and Alcohol policy.
  • Must be committed to working safely while accomplishing all tasks and promoting a safe work environment at all times.
  • Must be able to work overnight and weekends.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of an Overnight Manager, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and work in small spaces. Ladder work required. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 49 pounds. Ability to work in outside weather conditions on an airport ramp around aircraft and the confined areas of baggage conveyor systems. Specific vision abilities required by this job include good close proximity vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Good hand / eye coordination is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment is similar to airport operation with vehicular traffic. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places, outside weather conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, cold, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Employees will work on an airport ramp around aircraft and around heavy equipment.

Experience:

  • Supervising experience of a minimum crew size of 3 individuals: 2 years (Preferred) Minimum
  • Equipment repair: 8 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • OSHA 30 (Preferred)

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
