Eastern Illinois University is pleased to invite applications for the Instructor, Community & Public Health position. This position is a full-time, annually contracted (Unit B) appointment comprising teaching undergraduate and graduate courses across all degree programs. Courses to be taught may include but are not limited to: personal health, community health, human sexuality, personal nutrition, research methods, health citizenship, health politics and policy, human diseases, epidemiology. Opportunities to develop expertise-specific elective courses as well as supervise departmental honors student theses or graduate student projects.

Qualifications: Earned master’s degree in Community Health, Public Health, Health Education, Nutrition, Health Sciences or related field, from an accredited institution. Excellent communication skills and a desire to work in collaborative teams that include other health-related disciplines, such as exercise science, nursing, social work, and healthcare leadership, are essential.

Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated proficiency in college teaching (graduate teaching assistant experience acceptable). Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of three years teaching experience in a university or 3 years of experience in a community or public health agency. Training/experience in epidemiology/infectious disease management a plus.

Starting Date: August 16, 2026

Salary Range: $45,000.00-$49,500.00 base salary per academic year. Overload and/or summer teaching often available in addition to the base salary.
