Position Summary

The Director of Admissions is responsible for overseeing the full admissions process for Twin Lakes Nursing Home, ensuring timely, accurate, and compassionate transitions for residents and families. This role combines census development, referral management, and collaboration with clinical and leadership teams to maintain optimal occupancy while upholding regulatory and ethical standards.

Key Responsibilities

Admissions & Census Management

• Manage all aspects of the admissions process from referral to resident arrival
• Review clinical documentation to determine appropriateness for admission
• Coordinate bed availability with nursing, staffing, and administration
• Maintain target census levels in alignment with facility goals
  
  

Referral & Relationship Management

• Develop and maintain relationships with hospitals, case managers, social workers, and referral sources
• Communicate effectively with families regarding services, availability, and the admission process
• Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective residents and referral partners
  
  

Clinical & Interdisciplinary Collaboration

• Collaborate with the DON, nursing leadership, therapy, and social services to ensure smooth transitions
• Participate in daily or weekly management meetings as needed
• Address admission-related challenges in coordination with leadership
  
  

Documentation & Compliance

• Ensure all admission paperwork is completed accurately and timely
• Verify insurance, payer sources, and required authorizations
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations
  
  

Communication & Customer Service

• Provide clear, compassionate communication to residents and families during a stressful transition
• Address concerns promptly and professionally
• Represent Twin Lakes Nursing Home positively within the community
  
  

Qualifications

• Previous experience in nursing home admissions or healthcare intake preferred
• Strong understanding of long-term care regulations and payer sources (Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care)
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fastpaced, shortstaffed environment
• Proficiency with electronic health records and admissions systems
