Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, the COTA will implement therapeutic programs tailored to the individual needs of our residents.
Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy treatments to patients as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
- Assist in evaluating and documenting patient progress and response to treatment.
- Implement individualized treatment plans based on OT goals and resident needs.
- Educate and train residents, families, and caregivers on adaptive techniques and equipment use.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support comprehensive care planning.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory standards.
- Adhere to facility, state, and federal guidelines for patient care and therapy services.
- Required: Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Required: Current COTA license in VA.
- Preferred: 1 year of experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) setting.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred.
