Eastern Florida State College is currently seeking applications for the full-time position of Communications Coordinator on the Cocoa Campus in Cocoa, Florida
Salary & BenefitThe annual salary is $38,500. Successful internal candidates for external job postings should be aware that their current salary does not transfer to the new position. Position ConceptThe Communication Coordinator is an administrative role that supports the EFSC Communication Office, its campaigns and promotions. The role involves working with other members of the communications team in the creation of communication tools for both internal and external use, and promotional items, as well as assistance with the coordination of special events to increase EFSC’s visibility in the community to the benefit of our students.
Minimum QualificationsThe following minimum qualifications for this position must be met before any applicant will be considered:
- Associate’s degree from a regionally-accredited institution required.
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally-accredited institution in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism or related field, preferred.
- At least 1-3 years of experience in administrative support, communications or related field.
- Additional skills: Organization, attention to detail, excellent communication skills – written and spoken, problem-solving, ability to meet deadlines and multi-task, impeccable spelling and grammar.
- Ability to use a PC, various software such as Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel and MS Teams.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Valid Florida Motor Vehicle Operator’s license required.
- This position will require successful fingerprinting and the candidate chosen will be required to pay the associated fee (currently $36.00). This fingerprinting fee ($36.00) is non-refundable.

- High School Diploma or GED or transcripts or official transcripts of all collegiate work (as appropriate for the position) must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Human Resources Office prior to the first day of employment. All foreign degrees must have a course-by-course official evaluation and translation sent to the Human Resources Office directly from an evaluation company affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc.
Minimum physical qualifications:
- Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in the English language.
- Must be able to lift at least five pounds.
- Must be comfortable working in an office environment.
