Duties
- Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines such as CNC lathes, to produce precision parts.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and CAD (Computer-Aided Design) files to ensure accurate manufacturing.
- Program CNC equipment
- Conduct quality control inspections using calipers, micrometers, precision measuring instruments, and other tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Maintain proper tooling setup and perform routine maintenance on CNC machinery to maximize efficiency.
- Handle materials safely within the factory environment, including materials handling with forklifts when necessary.
- Collaborate with team members on assembly line tasks, fabrication projects, and packaging operations to meet production goals.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, or similar equipment in a manufacturing or factory setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot machine issues quickly.
- Familiarity with Fanuc controls, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and CNC programming techniques.
- Ability to read blueprints accurately and utilize GD&T standards for precise measurements.
- Experience with CAD software like SolidWorks or similar is preferred.
- Knowledge of tooling setup, welding basics, and fabrication processes is a plus.
- Competence in using hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Valid forklift certification or experience operating forklifts is desirable.
- Basic math skills necessary for calculations related to machining tolerances and measurements.
