Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies for various dental procedures.
- Assist dentists chairside during examinations, cleanings, restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments.
- Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, ensuring proper technique and patient safety.
- Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft while maintaining HIPAA compliance for confidentiality.
- Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring comfort throughout visits.
- Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient health status during appointments.
- Maintain infection control protocols using aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures to ensure a safe clinical environment.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and assisting the dental receptionist as needed.
- Assist with medical imaging and record keeping for comprehensive dental and medical documentation.
- Collaborate in four-handed dentistry practices to optimize efficiency during procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures.
- Familiarity with EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic or similar platforms is a plus.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques.
- Ability to operate X-ray equipment safely and effectively; certification in X-ray techniques preferred.
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience working with pediatric patients is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with patients of all ages including pediatrics.
- Ability to perform vital signs assessment and medical imaging accurately while maintaining patient comfort.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills for managing medical records and documentation efficiently.
