POSITION SUMMARY:
Works with the Associate Director in the overall administration and operation of the office.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works with the Associate Director in the overall administration and operation of the office.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists the Associate Director with managing day-to-day implementation of the student employment program.
- Assists the Associate Director with developing and implementing student employment orientation for supervisors and students.
- Processes student employee records in CORE-CT. Serves as a liaison with CORE-CT, including running reports as needed.
- Assists the Associate Director in the general hiring, training and supervision of staff in the Student Employment Office.
- Assists international students with securing a social security card and completing additional F1/J1 forms.
- Organizes files and maintains student records.
- Responds to employment verification requests from outside agencies.
- Serves as a liaison between students, parents, and academic and administrative offices.
- Assists the Associate Director in overseeing the grievance process between supervisors and student employees.
- Prepares and updates supervisor and employee training manuals.
- Reviews all on- and off-campus jobs before posting to ensure compliance with equal opportunity laws and Eastern’s Employability skills.
- May assume some additional duties in the absence of the Associate Director.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities related to those enumerated above which do not alter the basic level of responsibility of this position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree and at least one (1) year of professional experience in a university or closely related setting. Effective communication skills and confidence interacting with various constituencies. Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to learn new software. Experience working both independently and as part of a team.
